On this day, July 6 according to the Julian Calendar (July 19 civil calendar), the Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Martyrs Isaure the Deacon, Innocent, Felix, Hermas, Basil, Peregrine, Rufus, and Rufinus, who suffered for Christ in the third century.
The Holy Martyrs Isaure the Deacon, Innocent, Felix, Hermas, Basil, and Peregrine suffered martyrdom for their confession of faith in Christ in the Macedonian city of Apollonia, during the reign of Emperor Numerianus (283–284). Together with them, the governors of the city, Rufus and Rufinus, were also beheaded.
The Church venerates them as courageous witnesses to the faith who did not shrink from death for the sake of their Lord.
May the intercessions of the Holy Martyrs Isaure and his companions be with us all.
