The Venerable Theoctistus, fellow-faster of Euthymius the Great, at first struggled in asceticism together with Venerable Euthymius (commemorated January 20), and later was chosen as abbot of the monastery founded by Euthymius near Jerusalem. He reposed in the year 467.
