✝ Saint Sabinus, Bishop of Catania (†c. 760)
October 15 / October 28 (Julian Calendar)
On this day, October 15 according to the Julian Calendar (October 28 civil calendar), the Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Sabinus, Bishop of Catania.
Saint Sabinus was bishop of Catania in Sicily. Inflamed with a desire for seclusion and strict ascetic labor, the hierarch left his episcopal see and went out into the wilderness to struggle. There he lived a stern, ascetic life and received from the Lord the gift of working wonders and of foresight. The holy father reposed in about the year 760.
May the intercessions of Sabinus, Bishop of Catania be with us all.
