✝ Holy Martyrs Probus, Tarachus and Andronicus
October 12 / October 25 (Julian Calendar)
On this day, October 12 according to the Julian Calendar (October 25 civil calendar), the Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Martyrs Probus, Tarachus and Andronicus.
The holy martyrs Probus, Tarachus and Andronicus gave their lives for Christ in the year 304. The pagans demanded that they offer sacrifice to the idols. The proconsul, losing all patience at the steadfastness of the holy confessors, handed them over to be tortured.
The embittered executioners subjected the martyrs to every torment they could devise, and at last mercilessly hacked them all to pieces. The Christians secretly carried away the bodies of the saints and committed them to the earth.
May the intercessions of the Holy Martyrs Probus, Tarachus and Andronicus be with us all.
