The Holy Martyrs Callista and her brothers Evodus and Hermogenes, Christians of Nicomedia, were brought before the tribunal of a pagan judge for their confession of the true God. They refused to offer sacrifice to idols, for which they were pierced with swords in the time of Emperor Diocletian (284–305), or, according to another account, in the year 309.
