✝ Holy Martyrs Cyriacus, Faustus the Priest, Abibus the Deacon, and Eleven Martyrs with Them (†c. 250)
September 6 / September 19 (Julian Calendar)
On this day, September 6 according to the Julian Calendar (September 19 civil calendar), the Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Martyrs Cyriacus, Faustus the Priest, Abibus the Deacon, and the eleven martyrs who suffered with them. They were put to death in Alexandria during the reign of the Emperor Decius (249–251).
During the persecution of Christians they firmly confessed the true faith before the governor Valerius, for which they were beheaded in about the year 250. The Christians buried the bodies of the martyrs in Alexandria.
May the intercessions of the Holy Martyrs Cyriacus, Faustus, Abibus, and those who suffered with them be with us all.
