✝ Holy Martyrs Agathonicus, Zoticus, Theoprepius, Acindynus, Severian, Zeno, and Those with Them
August 22 / September 4 (Julian Calendar)
On this day, August 22 according to the Julian Calendar (September 4 civil calendar), the Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Martyrs Agathonicus, Zoticus, Theoprepius, Acindynus, Severian, Zeno, and those with them (4th century). These holy martyrs suffered for Christ during the reign of the Emperor Maximian (284–305; 307–310). Refusing to renounce their faith, they endured torments and were put to death, receiving from the Lord the unfading crowns of martyrdom.
May the intercessions of the Holy Martyrs Agathonicus, Zoticus, Theoprepius, Acindynus, Severian, Zeno, and those with them be with us all.
