Saint Maria Synkletike — August 11 / August 24 (Julian Calendar)

On this day, August 11 according to the Julian Calendar (August 24 civil calendar), the Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates Saint Maria Synkletike.

Saint Maria Synkletike was miraculously healed by the Icon of the Saviour Not-Made-by-Hands, which was made manifest in the days of the emperor Tiberius II (578–582).

Filled with thanksgiving, the blessed mother passed the whole of her remaining life in purity and holiness, and so departed to the Kingdom of Heaven.
