On this day, June 10 according to the Julian Calendar (June 23 civil calendar), the Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates the Venerable Theophanes of Antioch and Saint Pansemne, who reposed around 369 AD.
The Venerable Theophanes was an ascetic from Antioch who devoted his life to prayer, fasting, and the service of God. He is commemorated together with Saint Pansemne, a holy woman who likewise pursued the ascetic life with great dedication.
Both saints are venerated for their holy lives of prayer and self-denial, their love for God, and their steadfast pursuit of virtue. They reposed peacefully in the Lord around 369 AD.
May the intercessions of the Venerable Theophanes of Antioch and Saint Pansemne be with us all.
