On this day, July 3 according to the Julian Calendar (July 16 civil calendar), the Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Martyrs Mokius and Marcus, who suffered in the IV century.
The Holy Martyrs Mokius and Marcus were arrested for their confession of faith in Christ and brought before the court of the ruler Maximian. The holy martyrs firmly refused to offer sacrifice to idols, for which they were beheaded.
The Church honors them as steadfast witnesses to the truth of the Christian faith, who preferred death to apostasy and now enjoy everlasting life with God.
May the intercessions of the Holy Martyrs Mokius and Marcus be with us all.
