Holy Martyrs Caleria, Cyriacus, and Mary in Caesarea — June 7 / June 20 (Julian Calendar)

On this day, June 7 according to the Julian Calendar (June 20 civil calendar), the Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates the Holy Martyrs Caleria (Valeria), Cyriacus, and Mary, who were martyred in Caesarea of Palestine.

The holy martyrs Caleria (also known as Valeria), Cyriacus, and Mary lived in Caesarea of Palestine during the persecution of Christians under the Emperor Diocletian (284–305). After coming to know the teaching of Christ and receiving Holy Baptism, they settled in a secluded place and spent their days in prayer. The holy women fervently implored the Lord to end the persecution of Christians and to enlighten all the world with the light of Christ. The governor summoned the brides of Christ to his presence and demanded that they worship idols, to which they responded with a firm confession of the true faith. For this the saints were seized and slain by torture.

May the intercessions of the Holy Martyrs Caleria, Cyriacus, and Mary be with us all.
